Poseidon’s Cavern: Paper Sample Book
This is a student paper sample book for Domtar’s Lynx Opaque Ultra paper. The usage of both photo manipulation and illustration was to show the wide range of color and capacities Lynx’s paper holds. This is a visual story that relies more on the audience’s perspective on the story by showing, not telling the story.
The story is a choose-your-own adventure picture book which follows a diver who is searching for the fabled cavern of Poseidon. It is believed that his cavern leads you to the other side of the dimension and will lead you to the Realm of the Gods. If you decide to follow Poseidon, he will have you be one with the stars.
To show off what Domtar’s paper can handle, this project contains a mixture of photo compositing and illustration. Images were created to show full bleed photography, as well as foil and gloss finishes on the illustrations to not only show the capabilities of the paper, but to also add a tactile depth.
